Once I got out of the habit, I really got out of the habit. I've spent lots of time reading and doing other things besides sewing and quilting. <br />
<br />
Not that I haven't done any sewing or quilting. I managed to finish quilting my first BOM, the one with all those log cabin blocks, 80 to be exact. I used Marti Michel's book, <u>Machine Quilting in Sections</u>, and it made this one a lot easier. <br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://i58.tinypic.com/vx1zk.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://i58.tinypic.com/vx1zk.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Sorry it's sideways!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
It has a flannel back and wool batting. It is the only quilt or blanket on our bed. No need for anything else to keep us warm with that combo!<br />
<br />
The past two weeks I have been hitting the sewing corner hard. Two boxes of blocks are now tops, well, minus the borders anyway. And, this little one is ready to go in the quilting queue.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i57.tinypic.com/bh0y0g.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i57.tinypic.com/bh0y0g.jpg" height="320" width="255" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
It's Feeedsack Patches by Darlene Zimmerman. I think this pattern was sent out by Quilter's World or some other magazine as a freebie. I won this kit on a blog a two or three years ago and decided it needed to get pieced and off my shelf.<br />
<br />
I also finally decided to get my Victory Quilt (by Eleanor Burns) blocks together. It's another big one with eighteen 12" blocks set on point.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i58.tinypic.com/25oz87s.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i58.tinypic.com/25oz87s.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
With all that negative space, this one will go to the back of the quilting queue. It also just isn't one of my faves and definitely is not in the quilting-by-checkbook budget. I have the borders ready to go on today (fingers crossed).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i58.tinypic.com/28tkkch.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i58.tinypic.com/28tkkch.jpg" height="271" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The telephone block is not from book. I found it in my perpetual quilt block calendar. <br />
<br />
After getting this one together, I decided to move onto the Cozy Quarters' <i><b>All Its Glory</b></i> log cabin quilt. It went together super easy!! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i61.tinypic.com/2iash0g.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i61.tinypic.com/2iash0g.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This one isn't quite finished either. I still need to trim the edges, get the corner triangles on, and put the small black border on.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i61.tinypic.com/xazxud.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i61.tinypic.com/xazxud.jpg" height="182" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I've been quilting, too. Finally pulled out my <a href="https://weddingdressblue.wordpress.com/2012/03/23/tutorial-fading-charms-quilt/">Fading Charms</a> top, spent an afternoon basting, and put the pedal to the carpet!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i60.tinypic.com/28qrs5v.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i60.tinypic.com/28qrs5v.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This one is pretty straightforward and moving quickly. Once I get started, the quilting comes easily.<br />
<br />
For my first purchase of the year, I purchased two yards of neutrals from Hancock's of Paducah, along with some Aurifil thread and got the free shipping. I'm trying to be mindful of what fabric I have and stay out of the shops. However, I have another order from Connecting Threads coming with backing fabric and batting all purchased with free shipping and an online coupon. Gotta love a deal! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i57.tinypic.com/wthy0i.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i57.tinypic.com/wthy0i.jpg" height="320" width="265" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Hopefully I will start blogging on a regular basis and get back to tracking my fabric with Judy over at Patchwork Times. Have a great week!!krisgrayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01840128414499274110noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2534036933362540434.post-9771900307552404292014-08-31T11:50:00.002-05:002014-08-31T11:50:12.136-05:00A long time..again (stash report week 35)<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Howdy!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I still haven't figured out my photo dilemma. I am out of space on Blogger/Picasa and can no longer link to Flickr since its recent upgrade using https:// in its links.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">So, this one is current-project-photoless. Unless, you would like to visit my <a href="http://flickr.com/">Flickr </a>page, "farmgirltransplant," to see what's been happening in my quilt corner.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Since school started at the beginning of the month, I have had some time to sew and listen to music or watch a movie or listen to an audio book fo rmore than 15 minutes. Currently, I am stuck on Janet Evanovich audiobooks thanks to quilty friend Shannon!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><i><br /></i>
</span><br />
<i><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">This week I managed to finish two tops! WooHoo! I am so tired of borders, 5 in all!</span></i><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The <a href="http://www.modabakeshop.com/2010/10/charming-stars-quilt.html">Charming Stars quilt </a>is now a completed top in the queue for quilting. It measures 74x74, so the top used 5.3 yds. I need to shop the stash and get a back ready this week.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">And - drumroll please, Celtic Soltice is finished!!! For versions other than mine, which is on <a href="http://flickr.com/">Flickr</a>, please visit <a href="http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2014/01/mystery-monday-link-up-part-6.html">Bonnie's blog post from January</a>.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">My top measures 77x77. It was supposed to finish at 72x72 but to make the 2nd border, a pieced border, work and get an inner border that measured more than 1", I had to add a blocks to the pieced border. I love it! It's finished for now! It also used about 5.3 yds for the top.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I also purchased fabric from <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/Ozarkfabric/">Ozark Fabric on Facebook.</a> I am such a sucker for a sale! Mostly it was FQs, half yards, and two yards of a nice Quilting Treasures neutral, which always seem to be in short supply in the stash. There is one pretty blue batik FQ that quilty friend Joyce brought back from her visit to Missouri Star Quilt Co.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Oh - and some size 12 perle cotton. I really must get back to my handwork and embroidery. </span><br />

It's been 5 weeks since I posted! A break from every routine seems to be what I've needed this spring and summer. For many of those weeks, I just didn't have anything much to say or show.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Our son has been at my parents' house this week and since summer is heating up, I took the opportunity to work on some projects. Maybe I should do this chronologically, starting with a finish.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">After piecing two throw pillows to match Easy Street on our bed, I finally got around to quilting and finishing them. They are 20" so I figure each one used about 3/4 yd and that gives me a grand total of 1.5 yards to put in the "used" column.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Then, 5 quilty friends and I went to Branson at the beginning of June. We stayed 2 nights and shopped along the way first at a winery (LOL!) and then at 3 shops in Springfield, MO: Merrily We Quilt Along, The Quilt Sampler, and the Fabric Outlet (which really is an outlet, not a quilt shop). A few of us took a break on Saturday and visited a shop west of Branson called The Quilted Cow.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">All of the shops had nice sales with bolts from $3.99-$5.99/yd. The Fabric Outlet had all cottons at $3.99/yd but you had to feel and look at what you picked up. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I came home with a whopping 5.75 yards of fabric. Others came with lots more!!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

</tbody></table>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">At our monthly gatherings I've been working on "In All Its Glory." I cut everything for the next step beforehand so I can sit and stitch. I managed to get all the block components ready and this week I put them together. There are 9 of these star blocks with center logs finishing at 0.5". Yes, I was cutting 1" logs for this step!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">from modabakeshop.com, for my version visit Flickr</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Once those were finished I decided to turn my attention to some larger projects since I had the house to myself with DS at his grandparents and DH at work. I pulled out my red and white <a href="http://www.modabakeshop.com/2010/10/charming-stars-quilt.html">Moda Bake shop "Charming Stars"</a> blocks, cut the sashing strips and cornerstones and got the center of the top in one piece. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I pulled some red and white that has been sitting in my stash for a few years for the final border and binding. Borders will come later.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Then, I decided to put the Celtic Solstice blocks together. With so many little pieces in these blocks, I'm pressing the seams open to help eliminate some bulk and putting them all together a bit easier. This one isn't in one piece yet but it's on the design wall to keep me motivated. I just love the optical illusion of circles!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Hope y'all are having a wonderful summer!</span><br />
<br />
<i>P.S. I am sorry for the lack of photos. Flickr has been undergoing changes this year and I have no idea how to link to my photos there anymore. I am not a techie person and this is taking up lots of time. If I cannot find a quick solution. I may not be blogging much and when I do, there most likely will not be any photos, which makes for very dull blogging. Please follow me on Flickr "farmgirltransplant."</i><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It has been a while! Spring sputtered into our area and I've been doing all kinds of landscaping chores and just plain ol' enjoying the out of doors after our cold winter. We had a new deck put on, our old cedar was rotting and rickety. Then, we got our patio furniture arranged under the deck (which is a story tall) and new rope lights put up, and, well, frankly, I'd rather be right there on the swing with a good book than just about anywhere these days.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Needless to say, not much has happened on the sewing/quilting front. The borders are on the Curves Galore BOM and the backing fabric, from my stash btw, is washed and pressed and waiting for me to get into shape.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">At our last group sew in I started another project. One that I plan to work on when I'm with the group. It's called In All Its Glory and it's a quilt that DH pointed out years ago when we vacationed in northern Wisconsin. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The fabric and pattern have been sitting around for at least 2 years, maybe 3, and I decided I should get cracking. It's mostly courthouse blocks, nothing difficult about construction, but oh! the cutting of 1.5" and 1" strips!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I'm using 1.5" my Marti Michel log cabin ruler rather than strip piecing. It makes everything so exact. These are the blocks for step one all finished.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: xx-small;"><i>Sorry my pics are so small - I can't figure out how to get the Flickr photos to Blogger - uggh!</i></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It is a beautiful weekend! </span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The flowers are blooming, the birds are singing, some sewing is done!!</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Dare I say it again? After so many false starts and even snow this past Monday evening? Spring has sprung!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">With such lovely weather, not much has been happening in the quilting corner. There is nothing I like better this time of year than just hanging out on the back yard swing watching Mother Nature work her magic. I even had a titmouse land on my head a few days ago - guess s/he needed some hair for its nest!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Yesterday was our sew day and I sat and stitched and stitched on Celtic Solstice until I couldn't stand being indoors any longer. Of course, I also finished 22 of the 24 54-50 or Fight blocks.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Apparently I didn't count accurately so I have 7 more triangle units to put together so I can finish up all the blocks. That's right - 2 more blocks til they're all done! WooHoo!!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I used a gift certificate from Christmas and got a king size batting and 2 yards of black from Hancock's of Paducah this week. I plan to start on the log cabin pattern that hubby picked out a few years ago (LOL).</span><br />

So, spring has not sprung upon us, yet. The outlook for today is better, but it also promises to be an anomaly this week among needed rain and lower temps.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7333/13514431624_2c7edeab7f_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="206" src="https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7333/13514431624_2c7edeab7f_m.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">So, I decided to sew. And I needed to sit and stitch, not mess with borders, bindings, or laying out blocks. When that need arises, I pull out my latest Bonnie Hunter project and "just keep stitching."</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I spent last, chilly, windy Sunday afternoon cutting all the pieces for <a href="http://quiltville.blogspot.com/p/celtic-solstice-mystery.html">Celtic Solstice</a> clue #5. Then, stitched up a few. It's so nice to leave pieces right next to the machine to pick up where I left off. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3755/13514062695_d8fd9bd315_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="254" src="https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3755/13514062695_d8fd9bd315_m.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">All the block components are complete and 11 blocks are finished! It is so gratifying to put the blocks together after all those hundreds of components are pieced. I didn't want to stop!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><i>Hhhmmm...that Bonnie really knows what she's doing to keep us interested, doesn't she?</i></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">One advantage to sewing slowly is that I get to see what others have done with their mystery quilts. <a href="http://quiltville.blogspot.com/p/celtic-solstice-mystery.html">Celtic Solstice</a> is made of two alternating blocks.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Some people, either accidentally or purposefully, changed the direction of chevron units and this block...</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">...became this block.</span><br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Linus and Snoopy!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I really like the starburst! I'm going to use both versions of the block. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Progress made, but not on the numbers!</span><br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Now in bloom!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">This week was spring break. We didn't do anything special. Luckily, the weather was nice most days and DS and his friends on our street got to play outside. However, by Friday, they were so "bored" that they even helped me gather leaves into the tarp and throw them over our back fence into the wooded ravine. Now, they didn't last long at the task, but that was four loads that I didn't have to do alone!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Friday out temps reached over 72 degrees and it was the only day that I really got to do some outdoor cleaning on both patios. Prior to that, I was running errands and inside tending to housework - uggh. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">However, on Thursday, I'd had enough and escaped to my sewing corner while the boys were at someone else's house. I just needed to stitch. I didn't need to think or put on a binding or cut any fabric, I just needed to stitch. So, out came Clue #4 of <a href="http://quiltville.blogspot.com/p/celtic-solstice-mystery.html">Celtic Solstice</a>.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2889/13355278724_2cc1876b7e_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><img border="0" src="https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2889/13355278724_2cc1876b7e_m.jpg" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> And all 120 four patches are done. Geesh, I love strip piecing! Of course, I now have about 20 or so more 4 patches than I need - lol!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">That's it - I haven't shopped or finished another project this week. So the numbers remain unchanged.</span><br />

What a great day!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">And... surprise, surprise... I won a prize!</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7157/13178514264_e853ab9b85_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><img border="0" src="https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7157/13178514264_e853ab9b85_m.jpg" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I was blown away - Best Miniature Quilt! </span></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">There were lots of vendors at the show, but I'm still trying to find a place for all those 18+ yards that I brought home last weekend. Sew, I didn't buy a thing - not a single thing!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3692/13205111155_533e620361_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><img border="0" src="https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3692/13205111155_533e620361_m.jpg" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The one teensy project that I finished this week used the half yard of black furry minky that helped make up those 18 yards.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Here's my new, warm infinity scarf. And, since the temps around here dropped 30 degrees from yesterday, I got to wear it on this cold, blustery day as we spent the afternoon at <a href="http://www.bugsbunnyatthesymphony.net/">Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II</a>.</span><br />

And a Hard Fall! (stash report week 10)<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">After a hiccup of cold weather last week, after my last post, it seems that quite possibly spring has sprung! I got out to do yard work Friday and now have all sorts of projects on the spring "to do" list swirling in my head.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7291/12888763723_dbdf5c4643_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="160" src="https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7291/12888763723_dbdf5c4643_m.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">After that first day of yard work over a week ago, some of my sewing mojo left me. Then, after realizing that I'd failed to take in my main quilting machine for its annual cleaning and wrestling with another machine trying to FMQ and breaking lots of thread, the rest of my mojo left me, too. I've been quite unproductive these past couple of weeks. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">However, I did make myself get the BOM set entirely with my stash into one piece (above). </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3223/13045811473_d3db7127f6_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><img border="0" src="https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3223/13045811473_d3db7127f6_m.jpg" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Then I decided it needed a darker yellow and a darker blue for the final border and binding. Luckily I had some Connecting Threads leftovers to audition and placed an order for 2.75 yards to finish it up.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Then, yesterday I had to help quilty friend Joyce. See, she plans to downsize to a smaller house and is downsizing her fabric stash and sewing tools.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">So, I <b><u>had</u></b> to go to her sale and help out, right?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">To the tune of adding....</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It seems that Joyce and I have the same taste in greens!</span></div>

Dare we say it? Spring has sprung? We've had a couple days in the low 60s and I found three hyacinths poking out of the ground. <br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">hydrangea from last year</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
Rather than sew yesterday afternoon, I spent some zen moments trimming the viburnum, knock-out rose, and oakleaf hydrangea. The poor viburnum got caught in the last frost of last spring and lost a few large branches, the hydrangea was just a tad too large for it's spot, and the poor ol' rosebush needed a spring thinning. I almost escaped without a scratch - almost, 'til the very end!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I've been rather productive this week, but not enough to change the numbers very much. Easy Street is done - labeled and bound - WooHoo!! With the mud from our thaw, I've not been able to get a good picture.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
I forgot to show you the one Celtic Solstice 54-40 block from last weekend. I couldn't wait once I had enough 4 patches complete. This block is so much fun! It takes on 3 dimensional qualities when you view it from a distance.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
What makes me hum along this week is finalizing what to do with the twelve BOM blocks that I finished last week. I decided to use six 13.5" hourglass blocks to set the the top on point. <br />
<br />
Good thing I bought a 15" ruler this week at Joann's.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7295/12726088054_5b9e78190b_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7295/12726088054_5b9e78190b_m.jpg" /></a></div>
What has me humming is that the fabric for those six blocks and for the side and corner setting triangles came from my stash! Two of the greens were among those that arrived last weekend from Hillbilly Quilt Shop. <br />
<br />
While the yellow check on the sides isn't very dark, I'm trying to use what I have and may have enough of a gold/marigold to use as a narrow inner border to help bring out the yellows in the blocks, which aren't shown here, a bit more. Today I will lay them all out and try to get the colors distributed evenly. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5533/12034939356_34908b7654_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5533/12034939356_34908b7654_m.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
While taking a little break I sat down with the TV table and tools and finished squaring these little HSTs from my friends scraps. Just a few more to press, at 1.5" the seams are pressed open, and they will be ready for their own little project, a pillow top perhaps.<br />

Hope you all had a Happy Valentine's Day! DS went to a "party, " aka parent's survival night, at his gym so DH and I enjoyed a beef spedini entree and salad from our local grocery's take away counter.<br />
<br />
As I got to feeling a bit better from cold #2 that hit last weekend, more sewing happened this week in an effort to finish up old, small projects. I even got in a <a href="http://farmgirltransplant.blogspot.com/2014/02/friday-finish-whoop-whoop.html">blog post about them</a> before DS came home early from school on Friday (<span style="font-size: xx-small;">the district's way of wishing all parents a Happy V Day!</span>).<br />
<br />
Yesterday was the last day of the BOM at the LQS and it was our quilty friends sew day. It was cold and a bit icy and one of us went down before sewing a stitch - and broke her wrist. Poor Carol! The rest of us stitched and visited and waited to hear from Carol after she went to the urgent care center. She's a cheerful soul and returned for her things in good spirits.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2848/12569292064_218192a9ab_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2848/12569292064_218192a9ab_m.jpg" height="187" width="200" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I didn't feel very productive yesterday but I did get the last 3 blocks finished from the BOM. Now, I have no plans to ever sew another curved seam! Every block was made up of 16 of these units set together in different patterns.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7384/12568811065_4cb0d67316_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7384/12568811065_4cb0d67316_m.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Now to figure out how to set these blocks. I didn't purchase the kit from the LQS, just too much white for my taste. However, the kit set the blocks on point, which would yield a bigger quilt since these blocks are about 13.5." Decisions, decisions...<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<br />
Then, since it was our last BOM day, we got 20% all fabric and I picked up two batiks for the Tonga Nature BOM that we plan to tackle later this year. There's one more yard to the stash.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
When I returned home, I had a bulging padded envelope on the table from Hillbilly Tonya. It held all my goodies from <a href="http://www.hillbillyquiltshop.com/">Hillbilly Handiworks</a> from the past two months. In total: 2 one yard cuts, 4 half yard cuts, and 16 FQs. Back in the red for me!<br />
<br />
Some cuts are from the Hillbilly facebook group and her great year-end clearance FQ sale and others are from the website, where I also picked 3 new Ahhhs for paper piecing. The shop is so great about shipping - no shipments until your package is full, unless you request it.<br />
<br />
Pretty sewing novelties in half and FQ cuts. Another sewing machine cover might be in order.<br />

The binding and hanging sleeve is attached to Easy Street! Need to miter the corners, get the label ready, and get it all stitched down to call it a finish. <br />
<br />
I might have to use some of this new fabric to make a few drawstring bags. We are required to have our quilts/projects for the quilt show in bags with our name, address, phone number, and entry # on the outside. However, I don't think either Easy Street or the two 18" pillows I'm putting in the show will fit into my standby pillowcases. That means more stash shopping for me to help get these numbers in the black again!<br />

Here is an oldie. <br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5493/12525860254_ea8e638e31_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5493/12525860254_ea8e638e31_m.jpg" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Oopsie Daisy</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
I purchased the Moda kit at Market years ago. In looking through my lists of projects, I started it in the fall of '12. Why do I do this? Why do I not finish these things. It wasn't difficult, a little different with the prairie points, but not hard at all. Sew, now it is done!<br />
<br />
Then I decided to use this little tutorial at <a href="http://kirinote.blogspot.com/2007/07/how-to-make-reversible-journal-cover.html">Kirins Notebook</a> to make a reversible notebook cover for a generic spiral bound notebook. I just don't use composition books b/c I like to pull out pages from time to time.<br />
<br />
It was fun digging through my bins to find some fabric. Pink is not my color but I liked these floral and stripe fabrics I got years ago in a scrap bag at my LQS. And, I didn't have to cut those pretty roses.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7447/12525506843_51c029a6ae_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7447/12525506843_51c029a6ae_m.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Cutting was easy, added light weight interfacing to each piece, but it was the construction. First the pockets to hold the covers were too long. Then I could not line them up properly. It was just a day that nothing was going right in the sewing corner. You've had those, right? Finally, I got them all done and the first cover still is a bit snug for the spiral bound notebook but it fits fine for the one composition book that I own.<br />
<br />

Yep, the cold, the sinusitis, the "bug," whatever you call it is back.<br />
<br />
Been doing lots of this and have the Aleve and Afrin out once again. Ugghh.<br />
<br />
Before it really hit me yesterday, I did at least accomplish a few tasks this week. My sewing corner is picked up a bit, cut binding for Easy Street and its hanging sleeve, and finished three small projects.<br />
<br />
<br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; margin-left: 1em; text-align: right;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2868/12409460525_8ca65df613_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2868/12409460525_8ca65df613_m.jpg" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">6" squares</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<br />
These little paper pieced sunflowers, a kit from <a href="http://thedesignersworkshop.com/">The Designers Workshop</a>, had been in my drawer since my very first trip to Paducah, which must have been 2010 or 2011. I pulled them out last year and worked on them a little at our sew days. I really do like these small projects.<br />
<br />
Finally, tired of moving the "tops" around, I decided to finish them up. They are on my UFO list, even though they each measure only 6 inches square.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5507/12409493425_04ee5af102_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5507/12409493425_04ee5af102_m.jpg" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">measures 16x20</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<br />
Here's "A Little 30s," a mini all bound, labeled, and ready for the quilt show next month. No hanging sleeve, it can be pinned. When it comes home I'll stitch little rings on the back to hang from nails.<br />
<br />
Not a lot of yardage but three projects checked of the ol' UFO list. Now, to get Easy Street finished up.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; margin-left: 1em; text-align: right;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/13/PileatedWoodpeckerFeedingonTree.jpg/220px-PileatedWoodpeckerFeedingonTree.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/13/PileatedWoodpeckerFeedingonTree.jpg/220px-PileatedWoodpeckerFeedingonTree.jpg" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">a pileated woodpecker (wikipedia)</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Our cold temps are back, with snow, and the birds are camped out in our back yard. I have four feeders and emptied the second 50 lb bag of sunflower seeds for the season. Guess they are cold, too! <br />
<br />
I do enjoy sitting with a cuppa and watching them flit around and see who visits us. Until land was cleared for yet another subdivision, we had lots of woodpeckers and nuthatches, i.e. tree climbers, but not so many anymore. A pileated woodpecker once visited a suet feeder hanging on the front porch, but that when DS was just a baby. They are shy birds and I felt lucky to catch a glimpse.<br />
<br />
To the numbers. Hey! in the black, barely - not much happening here if we go only by the numbers but I feel I've accomplished a lot this week.<br />

<br />
It's rare that I blog during the week, but I am feeling so much better than I did just a few days ago. Tuesday night's guild meeting was a long one, for sure!<br />
<br />
I'm also taking the chance now because it may not come up again soon. Y'all are familiar with the pattern, I was the first to get the cold, DH came home early yesterday with it and he has a lasik procedure scheduled for today, too - double the fun!, and I've been trying to make sure DS doesn't get it. Yep - it <i>could</i> be a long weekend!<br />
<br />
Yesterday I left the Aleve behind and did the dishes and got part of dinner ready, to be warmed up later, after DS left for school and then I sewed and pressed on Clue #3 of <a href="http://quiltville.blogspot.com/p/celtic-solstice-mystery.html">Celtic Solstice</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3811/12237034554_5fd22fb4ce_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3811/12237034554_5fd22fb4ce_m.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Having the trianlges all cut into pairs per <a href="http://quiltville.com/">Bonnie's</a> instructions makes the stitching a cinch! Taking 100 of the HST squares and turning them into 25 pinwheels was also a cinch! WooHoo!!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2848/12237214866_ff6aa667ba_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2848/12237214866_ff6aa667ba_m.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
These little HSTs got all squared up to 2" and pressed this week. I used my June Tailor cutting board/ironing pad and just did them on my lap, being very careful with the iron, of course!<br />
<br />
<br />

Quilty friend Elise has ben telling us for ages how she enjoys and sewing at the same time by getting audiobooks. I finally read our county library instructions and set up my tablet to use Overdrive (free app) to borrow ebooks and eaudiobooks. I listened to <i><b>His Majesty's Hope</b></i> yesterday while I was busy - I was sad to have to turn it off with about 10 chapters to go, so I will definitely be doing that again. Thanks Elise!<br />

Have a great Friday!<br />
<br />

<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7359/12153273406_aaa3a6e5cc_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7359/12153273406_aaa3a6e5cc_m.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
"Bonnie" as in good and "Bonnie" as in <a href="http://quiltville.com/">Bonnie Hunter!</a><br />
<br />
First, I picked up Easy Street from quilter Kathy Monday afternoon - how cool is that swirly panto? (<span style="font-size: xx-small;">I really must learn how to get better pics.</span>)<br />
<br />
Please don't ask what pattern it is as Kathy doesn't use pantos, she just freehands it all!<br />
<br />
Quilt show entires are due Tuesday. I'm trying to decide if I want to enter it or not.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Then, after being out for MLK Day on Monday, the kiddos got another snow day on Tuesday - uggh. However, rather than let 4 boys have the run of the basement, unsupervised, for an afternoon, I sat at the ol' featherweight and stitched up Clue #2 for <a href="http://quiltville.com/">Celtic Solstice</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2839/12153182246_7763e66a5f_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2839/12153182246_7763e66a5f_m.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Frankly, I didn't think it was ever going to end! I mean, I stitched on it all day Saturday and then most of the afternoon on Tuesday to get 100 units. Of course, each 3.5" unit has 6 pieces with seams that had to be pressed.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilolxCT9Ek8dLqxOCgeF0T8SH3VK6xkLy2auBpb5cgWmHXsOkm3slJ5fuiosSSzjZj_uHITzONZqFLTsbal4oI3BMxM3Cnvg92zzw-CN1gnDj0Xnh6XYizbTcNHzMY9nXvYNtWhYyYN-7Y/s1600/DSC02373.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilolxCT9Ek8dLqxOCgeF0T8SH3VK6xkLy2auBpb5cgWmHXsOkm3slJ5fuiosSSzjZj_uHITzONZqFLTsbal4oI3BMxM3Cnvg92zzw-CN1gnDj0Xnh6XYizbTcNHzMY9nXvYNtWhYyYN-7Y/s1600/DSC02373.JPG" height="150" width="200" /></a></div>
Sunday after posting my numbers, DH's jeans made onto the cutting board. Uggh - there were three pairs to narrow in the legs and shorten. It wasn't so bad, but it was 2.5 hours that I could've spent on something a little more fun!<br />
<br />
That's it. I haven't sewn a stitch since Tuesday. With a small consulting gig, snow days, and trying to get back to a regular workout that was derailed by the holidays, it's been tough to reclaim a schedule. Then there's that pesky housework and cooking that must be done - uggh!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibApTGmNOsQ2arfzhPQn_9CpE8HIdSWUfNtUdgx00eFCKPrTzQ-2UGgE9N7XFh_3agmUZL3LyiEhMYr6BjfMcHzRzG59a_xQ75fMYclKFw1ALomDboZYbVDAeP3_eabv-niWUep5BYaWNg/s1600/allergy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibApTGmNOsQ2arfzhPQn_9CpE8HIdSWUfNtUdgx00eFCKPrTzQ-2UGgE9N7XFh_3agmUZL3LyiEhMYr6BjfMcHzRzG59a_xQ75fMYclKFw1ALomDboZYbVDAeP3_eabv-niWUep5BYaWNg/s1600/allergy.jpg" /></a></div>
With the 30-40 degree change in our weather that came along Friday, I am feeling a tad under the weather. Thank goodness for Afrin! It's probably allergies, it's red cedar season, but the cold weather seems to keep all this allergy business at bay, so I'm kind of looking forward to the colder weather that's coming back to us sometime tonight! I need to get busy on Clue #3.<br />
<br />
My numbers are unchanged from last week's report. As soon as I feel like <strike>wrestling with</strike> trimming Easy Street, I will get it bound and get back in the black.<br />

<br />
Alrighty!!<br />
<br />
My vow not to buy fabric lasted about one week! <br />
<br />
While getting my charms ready for the <a href="http://www.modabakeshop.com/2010/10/charming-stars-quilt.html">Charming Stars pattern</a>, I discovered that my stack needed a few more squares. So, I clicked over to <a href="http://connectingthreads.com/">Connecting Threads</a> and picked up a little 24 count charm pack.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5514/12034097005_dc5a865ac4_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5514/12034097005_dc5a865ac4_m.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Yesterday was our group's sew day. I worked through the week to get the starpoint squares ready so that I could mindlessly put the 9 patches together.<br />
<br />
However, I was so busy gabbing and eating birthday cake - we had a surprise party for Elise - that I only worked on Clue 2 of Celtic Solstice. Didn't sew one red & white 9 patch all day.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7439/12034878934_dd6de1ddfd_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7439/12034878934_dd6de1ddfd_m.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Then there's Clue 2 of <a href="http://quiltville.com/">Celtic Solstice</a>. They're not pretty but I got loads of little pieces stitched together, but there's still more stitching to do - uggh! <br />
<br />
It was so nice to have our sew day. As soon as DH went back to work last week and I was home with DS and his friends, all sewing ceased! We hadn't sewn together since November and it was nice to stitch and catch up and laugh. It's so much different than stitching in my basement corner with Netflix or Pandora playing.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5533/12034939356_34908b7654_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5533/12034939356_34908b7654_m.jpg" /></a></div>
Cheri flew in for the birthday party and we had such fun. She was stitching away on a loaner featherweight and gave me all these waste triangles from her project. <br />
<br />
Well, they were already together in pairs ready to chain piece, so I ran them under the needle. There are 50 trimmed to 1.5" so far and these four are pressed. I have no idea how many there are; done enough counting for Clue #2. I'm thinking they would make a cute pillow top.<br />
<br />
Also got a call yesterday from Long Armer Cathy - my Easy Street is done. I'll go pick it up tomorrow - can't wait to see it! Entry forms for our guild's biennial quilt show are due by Tuesday evening and I'll have to decide whether to put it in or not.<br />

DH and I agreed that Jan. 2nd was awfully early for the kids to go back to school. Two rounds of snow has given them 3 days off and school is cancelled tomorrow, too. DH also got a snow day today, which was supposed to be his first day back. Although, he's doing a bit of work while I try to quilt in the basement with 4 boys between the ages of 7 and 9 basking in their 3rd day off school.<br />
<br />
Yesterday I cut out some background muslin to make 16 of these star blocks. This is block one - just had to see one made up. I think it might make a nice graduation gift for our babysitter.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5521/11806175143_a252c814f4_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5521/11806175143_a252c814f4_m.jpg" height="320" width="282" /></a></div>
<br />
See those eight 2" bonus HSTs that come with every block? Maybe they can find a place in a border.<br />
<br />
This is a Moda Bake Shop pattern called <a href="http://www.modabakeshop.com/2010/10/charming-stars-quilt.html">Charming Stars</a>. The red & white charms I'm using are from the first blogger swap I ever participated in about 3 years ago now. One of the participants made this quilt with her charms and it's been on my list ever since.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3744/11806203533_b94ca20153_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3744/11806203533_b94ca20153_m.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
I've been cutting for Clue 2 of Celtic Soltice as well. I need a break before cutting another 100+ neutral squares. Maybe a bit of reading is in order.<br />
<br />
Namaste<br />

<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">With out of town visitors in varying numbers for 10 days, I didn't even attempt to find the time to blog. I did well to get enough sleep and keep the kitchen clean with all the meal preparations going on. Due to snow forecasts my in-laws arrived a day later than planned and left a day earlier, so the original 12 day stay became 10 days.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3787/11781514594_18317e5564_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3787/11781514594_18317e5564_m.jpg" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">On New Year's Day, day one with no company, I cleared my sewing corner and got it back in working order and slowly decided how to tackle <a href="http://quiltville.blogspot.com/p/celtic-solstice-mystery.html">Celtic Solstice</a>. I had only done parts of clues 1 and 2, so I decided to concentrate on one clue at a time. In between lying on the couch and watching Miss Marple on Netflix, I cut most of clue 1 and continued cutting the next day and then got to stitching. Bonnie <a href="http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2014/01/happy-new-year-2014-surprise-reveal.html">revealed the mystery</a> on New Year's Day and it is lovely! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I have been thinking about my sewing goals for the new year. Last year I was all about trying to finish projects. And I did. There are 3 finished queen size quilts and 1 at the quilter's plus a few smaller quilts scratched off the UFO list. I also started "quilting by checkbook" in order to get projects finished.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">However, it's <u>so much fun</u> to start new projects. And, I have so many fabrics pulled with specific patterns in mind. Also, there is the bolt of muslin that I got for Christmas last year that I barely used in 2013 and charms from swaps over the past two years just waiting to be used. So, I'm going to start new projects and enjoy sewing again! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7459/11781555804_419cd590f9_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7459/11781555804_419cd590f9_m.jpg" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I am going to enjoy starting new projects without bringing 150 yards of fabric into the house, again! With Celtic Solstice, my oranges, dark blues, and yellows are quite depleted. But, I plan to stick to the fabric already pulled for projects. I will need to buy border and binding fabrics here and there, but I will concentrate on using what I have. As usual, the biggest dilemma is deciding which project to start first!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><i><b>What are your sewing goals for 2014?</b></i></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The best part of the new New Year? Starting off with a clean slate on the ol' stash report! </span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I do not count fabric "out" until a top is complete, but I do count tops and backings before quilting.</span><br />

(Stash report week 51)<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: x-large;">Here it is! The last quilt of the year. </span><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5478/11503452544_d45a71b285_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5478/11503452544_d45a71b285_m.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This is my second Bonnie Hunter <a href="http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2005/06/pineapple-blossom.html">Pineapple Blossom</a> quilt. Used a jelly roll + yardage for my MIL's Christmas gift. I used wool batting off the roll from Hancock's (<span style="font-size: xx-small;"><i>not Hobbs, which had an uneven thickness to it - won't buy that ever again</i></span>) so it's nice and light to launder but still warm.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5479/11503490013_418b071fb0_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5479/11503490013_418b071fb0_m.jpg" width="250" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">This is my last finish because tomorrow I have to pack up my sewing corner til next year. Eleven days to be exact, the storm knocked a day of our guests plans. I know ya'll can commiserate with me, no sewing for over a week! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I cut some 2" strips for the <a href="http://quiltville.blogspot.com/p/celtic-solstice-mystery.html">Celtic Solstice mystery</a>, maybe I can get DH to take his parents somewhere and I can sneak in some sewing time on the featherweight. Or, I may have to call a quilty friend and see if I can escape for a few hours on day 8 or 9!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihzvQ0HC-87huoXjDd-wg3bBVbmX0rh87QNDBo3FFz-4n8vIdIOyFFFxl2b1nn3iDpSy8Irl0eIsJbNBXJBqULu1ZGAYtqcoiXTC8yg1G4uslRim_n-Fgs5f9KT_F4od3jqgFeuz4o9YJE/s1600/DSC01400.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihzvQ0HC-87huoXjDd-wg3bBVbmX0rh87QNDBo3FFz-4n8vIdIOyFFFxl2b1nn3iDpSy8Irl0eIsJbNBXJBqULu1ZGAYtqcoiXTC8yg1G4uslRim_n-Fgs5f9KT_F4od3jqgFeuz4o9YJE/s320/DSC01400.JPG" width="320" /></a><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The last thing I need to do is alter DH's new 3 pair of pants/jeans. They have been lying around for at least 2 months - ugghh! He has been such a great help this week cleaning. He worked on the kitchen yesterday while I finished his mom's quilt.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Oh - and DH's learning. Our son's den mother has a home business in which she supplies onesies with "tattooed" sleeves to shops and retailers worldwide. Well, she thinks she needs an extra pair of hands, someone who can sew, to help her out. She told her story to DH and said, "Your wife sews, right?" And he answered, "No, she quilts." YEAH! He's learning!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">To the numbers.................</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">My last package form the Scrappy Trip Along Flickr swap arrived this week. Three yards of neutral 2.5" strips! I like doing swaps, but they can get expensive - $12 for postage. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3822/11503440436_c25563ee20_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3822/11503440436_c25563ee20_m.jpg" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Now that I have 3.5 of my containers full of 2.5" strips, it may be time for me to do something with them rather than accumulate more. Assuming I have any time to think over the next 11 days about anything but the next meal that needs to be cooked, I need to come up with a strategy for using fabric in 2014. <i><b>The most obvious is to not buy any more fabric!!!</b></i></span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Some of this I took in order to clear out the old and put in some "newer" stuff. I took 2 of the several one yard cuts, claimed several older remnants (two of which weren't quilting cotton) and 7 FQs (<i><b>I luv FQs</b></i>).</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I took the 3 old magazines and book and replaced them with 2 newer issues and a recently released book, <b>A Month of Sundays</b>. I won the book and it was a lovely read. Since I am in de-clutter mode for the holidays, someone else can enjoy this sweet book.</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Then, some hexie samples from Paper Pieces, an AHHHHH (beginner hexie) from <a href="http://www.hillbillyquiltshop.com/">Hillbilly Handiworks</a>, a quilt label, a ruler holder, and a some needle threaders jumped out of my drawers to the box!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The <a href="http://karmawillowdesigns.blogspot.com/p/traveling-stash-box.html">rules can be found here</a> but, basically, you must be an active blogger in the U.S., replace chosen items with like items in quantity and quality, and be willing to move the box quickly along to the next recipient, although, allowances for the holidays will probably be tolerated at this time of year. Katie has some good hints for how to <a href="http://karmawillowdesigns.blogspot.com/p/traveling-stash-box.html">save money at USPS.com</a> when shipping the boxes.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<b><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The giveaway will end on Thursday (12/19) at 9AM CST. <span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><i><u>Onto other fun stuff:</u></i></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><i><u><br /></u></i></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7378/11385408814_2d1e021aef_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-size: large;"><img border="0" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7378/11385408814_2d1e021aef_m.jpg" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">After celebrating at our "so long" luncheon for quilty friend Cheri, who is moving, last weekend, I had such a headache that I didn't show you the goodies that came home with me. Now, lest you think that the headache was from too much imbibing, let me set you straight. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">About five of us spent 3 hours walking the streets of teensy-weensy Kimmswick, MO, visiting 28 shops on the annual Cookie Walk. I had no idea there were 28 shops in that little town. It really wasn't too cold until the 14th shop and I thought, "why didn't I bring my earmuffs!"</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Quilty friend Gale brought us all Thirty-One bags (above). I think we will all be bringing them to our sews days, they are that big, and have a zipper on top!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7376/11385359126_fd1c6cf6a4_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><span style="font-size: large;"><img border="0" height="272" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7376/11385359126_fd1c6cf6a4_m.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Then, while this was a luncheon for Cheri and we gave her a signature quilt which I bound last week, she made iron totes for everyone, ten in all. She enlisted Joyce and Elise in her work, too, by cutting, marking, sewing on buttons.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> It took me a while to figure out how it folded together. Unfolded it becomes an ironing pad. Each fabric was different and they just handed out gift bags and waited to see who got which tote.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://wingandaprayerdesign.com/images/tonga-nature.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-size: large;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://wingandaprayerdesign.com/images/tonga-nature.jpg" width="182" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Quilty friend Charla and I are planning to do the <a href="http://wingandaprayerdesign.com/Tonga-Nature.htm">Tonga Nature BOM </a>together using our own batiks. The fabrics used in the BOM did not appeal to me at all, hence my not doing it in the LQS.</span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3791/11385468123_d2174608e3_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><span style="font-size: large;"><img border="0" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3791/11385468123_d2174608e3_m.jpg" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">And, Charla had issues with the directions, or lack thereof. The pattern is pretty stingy with block construction instructions, both written and pictoral, and is certainly not meant for any beginner. </span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">So, we thought we would do a block together per month at our sew days. It took me a few hours to go through my batik stash and come up with this pile of 11 fabric families (still need a border fabric but that can wait til the top is done).</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I've been doing little bits of work on Bonnie Hunter's mystery, Celtic Solstice. I mean little - like 3 or 4 units per clue. That will all change next weekend. I won't make any progress. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><i>I had intended you show some, but some of my Flickr photos have disappeared, completely, atm. HHMmmmm......</i></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">We are hosting my husband's family this year - his parents for a 12 day visit (I won't say another word!) - so I have to clean up and put my sewing corner to bed while we have company. I will have to de-stress at the gym or by reading.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">My stash numbers haven't changed. I put a little more into the box than I took, but it was mostly an even trade. I've been shopping the clearance FQs at Ozark Fabric Facebook group again but they haven't arrived, so I'm not counting them!</span></span><br />

Here are 3 complete units for Celtic Solstice clue #2. Several squares and rectangles are cut and ready for some chain piecing, which I just might get to in a few minutes, but I doubt if I will get anymore of the 97 units still needed done before week's end. I fully expect to be finishing this mystery just before the next one comes out! <br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I'm trying to finish projects and get ready to host out of town company over the holidays, so my mind isn't on the <a href="http://quiltville.com/">mystery</a>. But, I wish it were! I need some mindless, repetitive sewing. </span></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3834/11224043203_7d7e2dbf66_m.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><img border="0" src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3834/11224043203_7d7e2dbf66_m.jpg" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Of course, I'd have to cut out first, and I've not done much of that so far. Luckily, I'm doing the small version.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I am organized and ready to keep up with each clue. Need to get something besides a cardboard box, but it will do for now.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Some sewing done, with the walking foot on - I'm FMQing and binding on two of my machines atm. Once I'm done, I can put my regular foot back on and stitch some units.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I was the happy winner of Stash Box #6. If you'd like to win a fun box of quilty goodness, please <a href="http://farmgirltransplant.blogspot.com/2013/12/traveling-stash-box-giveaway.html">click over to this post</a>.</span><br />
