Birthday Giveaway (and Stash Report Week 18)

In two days I will be another year older.  To celebrate, I will give one of you a gift (more details below).

I've reached both Lucy Ricardo's age (29) and Jack Benny's age (39) and have to decide which to go with - I'm leaning towards Lucy.  Although, the first time I helped in my son's kindergarten class this spring one of his classmates told me that I looked like his grandma, not his mom!

On a happier note: The birthday celebration started a bit early with a great package from my April swap partner in the Flickr Monthly Fabric Swap Group.

Pretty batiks, yummy chocolate and a pretty Villa Rose pattern from Christine in Washington state!

Our weather here was so nice most of this week that I've been outside, not inside sewing a single stitch.  The only additions are the pretty 1/4 yd cuts of extra fabric that my partner sent me.  So, my numbers are practically unchanged from last week.

Here's what I've pulled out for one of you! There will be a few little goodies added to the bundle.

Bday giveaway

Four FQs and a charm pack of 45 different dot fabrics.  The lemon, lettuce, and blue floral fabrics are from Paintbrush Studios.  The neutral is a Lori Holt design for Riley Blake.  The 5" charms are cut by moi from the various dots I've used in my 3/4" hexie flowers, which I've gotten away from recently.

This will be a quick giveaway, open to all.  Please leave one comment on this post telling me if you do hand sewing and, if so, what your most recent hand project is.

Rules and such:  A winner will be determined by the Random Number Generator on Tuesday evening (May 7th) at 9PM CST.  Any comment after 9M on Tuesday will not be included in the giveaway.  All "no reply" comments will also be discarded.  Please, if you are not sure if you are a "no reply" blogger, then leave your email address in the comment so that I can reach you.  If the prize is not claimed via email response by Thursday evening (May 9th) at 9PM, then I will draw another winner.

I know it is annoying, but the word verification is still on.  I tried removing it and still got spam, so it is there to stay.

Good Luck!

To the numbers:
Used this week: 0
Used YTD: 57.125
Added this week: 0.5
Added YTD: 47.5
Net used YTD: 9.625

  3. I don't do much hand stitching. Occasionally I do needle-turn applique and I always hand stitch my bindings down. Love your giveaway fabrics -- I'm a big fan of both dots and novelty prints. Thanks so much for sharing and have a great Birthday!

  4. What??? Another year older. No WAY!! I had a birthday recently too (last Sunday), but I'm afraid I can't claim either Lucy or Jack Benny. Maybe adding both of them together would be closer to the truth!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! You do NOT look like anyone's grandma.

Now on the hand stitching question. Naturally I do a lot of hand binding, some embroidery work and when I have time, hand applique (although that is getting less and less these days). Thanks for putting me in the hat. I'd love getting cute fabrics for all my scrappy quilts.

  5. I have been trying hand foundation piecing while travelling lately. I am not yet sure if I like the way it is turning out, but it keeps me occupied.
    Happy Birthday!

  7. Happy Birthday to you! I like to have at least one hand piecing project on the go. Currently I am making a queen size quilt for my bed in all different blues on a yellow background using the pattern Cathedral Ceiling by Leesa Chandler, an Aussie designer. I only need about 10 more dresden blocks (out of 132!) and about 20 yellow blocks and I'll be ready to start putting it together. Hope you have a wonderful birthday!

  13. Happy Birthday! I love to do hand work. I cross stitch, embroider, applique, hand piece and the latest technique I've learned is EPP. I'm currently working on a small table runner using 1/2" hexies. I'm afraid I'll have to be careful, or hexies will take over my life, as they seem to be addicting!

  14. Happy Birthday! I haven't done hand work in years. I am going to be taking a class soon on hand quilting a small quilt. I think I will enjoy that. We shall see. Thanks for the chance to win an awesome gift. Have a great birthday.

  15. Happy Birthday. Due to my hands being older than the ages given for Lucy Ricardo and Jack Benny combined, my only hand work is bindings. However, since I am about to bind my 6th quilt of the year I am considering machine sewing both sides.
